TRANSLATIONS

A study of how visual patterns from nature can be translated into form, texture and tactile structures. The project moves from 2D observation and drawing to 3D paper constructions and relief compositions.

Natural surfaces become a library of rhythms: growth rings, cellular structures, spirals, repetition and erosion.

Pattern observation drawings
Translate

The drawings are then converted into cuts, folds, layers and repeated paper structures, testing how a visual pattern changes when it becomes physical.
